The Talk
Small Samples, Big Decisions: Rethinking Experimentation Outside Big-Tech
Most experimentation advice is written for Meta- or Netflix-scale companies. In this talk, I’ll share how we approached experimentation at Splice without millions of users, covering the methodology, real use-cases, and trade-offs that enabled us to make confident product decisions, ship impactful changes, and drive growth despite small samples.
I believe this perspective would be especially valuable for teams facing real-world constraints around traffic, timelines, and decision-making rigor.
What You Will Learn
People will learn how to run effective experimentation when classic the methodology isn't viable. They’ll understand alternative ways to evaluate impact with small samples, how to balance rigor with speed, and how to make confident product and growth decisions without waiting for statistical significance. The talk will provide practical frameworks, real examples from Splice, and clear trade-offs teams can apply immediately to improve decision-making under real-world constraints.
