Introduction

Spencer Shulem built his first two apps at 13. Both hit #1 in their categories. By 19, he'd join Procore in their UX/UI department as their youngest employee. By 20, after raising venture capital, he shipped a globally top-ranked productivity app.


Then he led product at multiple Series A YC companies — helping teams fix churn, conversion, and engagement.


Today he's the founder of BuildBetter.ai, the leading AI platform for product teams used by Posthog, Brex, Procore, AppFolio and thousands more. He's spent six years talking to over 5,000 product leaders about what actually separates the companies that retain customers from the ones that churn them.


That work turned into two books: Product Theory and Churn is Optional: The Customer-Led Manifesto. At BuildBetter, he runs what he writes — no handoffs between sales and support, revenue shared across the entire team, and a 20-year relationship mindset with every customer.
